In an ongoing effort to provide top technology for law enforcement clients, MetroAlert has partnered with the industry leading WTH company to provide state-of-the-art Geographic Information System software. With this strategic partnership, MetroAlert clients have access to the most effective GIS technology available and realize the full power of map-based analysis and management.
The WTH system integrates seamlessly with MetroAlert Compstat, MetroAlert Records Management System (RMS) and MetroAlert Computer-Aided Dispatch to provide a complete solution for capturing, storing, managing, analyzing and presenting data that refers to or is linked to location. Users of MetroAlert’s current GIS will migrate to the WTH software through the upgrade process, and new clients contracting for GIS will automatically receive the WTH software.
The new GIS solution offers pin-point mapping, powerful search tools and flexible map building through use of base maps available from most Pennsylvania and New Jersey counties and municipal sources. It supports a map-based Automated Vehicle Locator for agencies requiring unit tracking and can include a web access add-on to allow public access to published activity. It can easily be expanded with new features as needed.
“This is a people-friendly GIS solution,” notes Tony Iannacone, MetroAlert’s founder and president. “New insights gained from the graphical display of data are helping public safety personnel to achieve real impact in preventing and solving crimes. “Officers of every stripe – routine or special duty, community patrol or rapid response, crime prevention or investigative analysis – need the best available tools to deal with the incredible challenges facing police today. With WTH, it’s not merely an additional tool. It’s the tool that provides revolutionary capabilities for MetroAlert’s RMS technology.”
